The How to Be Lucky Challenge

Do you consider yourself to be a lucky person?

Would you like to be lucky?

It turns out that it’s possible to teach ourselves to be lucky.

In the applied positive psychology program I’m in, we touched on the work of Richard Wiseman and his framework for becoming a lucky person.

I’m fascinated by this idea, mostly because I’ve never really thought much about luck and haven’t considered myself to be lucky.

Wiseman defines luck as a mindset – a way of thinking and behaving – that we can learn.

Lucky people…

  • Are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities.
  • Make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition.
  • Create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations.
  • Adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

Now that I’ve seen there are methods for becoming lucky, I want to deep dive into these ideas and put the practices to the test in my own life.

Want to join me?

For the next several weeks, I’m going to be sharing Luck Lessons, including practical challenges you can try out in your own life.

We’ll be covering:

  • Maximizing our chance opportunities
  • Listening to our lucky hunches
  • Expecting good fortune
  • Turning bad luck into good

By diving into luck, putting specific practices into place in our lives and changing our mindset, we’ll move ourselves to a place of greater flourishing.

I’m excited to see how we change and grow through this process!

What to expect:

You’ll get weekly emails on Sundays as usual. The next five weeks or so will be focused on The How to Be Lucky Challenge.

I’ve also thought of adding a private facebook group, possibly with some video or Facebook lives. If that’s something you’d be interested in, let me know!
